As time has flashed before you...
As the world is changed & rearranged do you find it strange that
A verdict is not in? Oh, haven't you heard?
Gary McKinnon's world depends on the mercy of a few who want
To do nothing to pursue his case. (So it would seem.)
A spade is a spade? Really?
So now a decade has passed and many have asked the question "Why?".
May I suggest something?... Look at the intent... Not the crime (So it has been called.)
What do believe you'll find? A terrorist?
...He was in the wrong place at the wrong time
Only the space of a bedroom, but so it was.
And now his face is everywhere! Did he intentionally go there? Yes.
He's admitted to that. Now he wishes he could take it back...
Do they care? Does that count?
Can Gary be acquitted? He can, and he should I think, and so do many.
What good will come from sending him away?
This is not a case of paying for a sin.
Again I say, look at the intent... Not the crime.
How can Gary be blamed? Wherever he should not have been, something was uncovered,
that had been there all the time!
It's the intent of the man... Not the crime. Don't you see?
Whoever wants to hide all this has already won.
Why punish Gary for what's already there?
There was no hack or personal attack on information...
But the supposed dirty deed is irreversible. Alright.
Even so, the time doesn't fit the crime, would you agree?
Many have done much worse, and gone free!
For Gary, it will be sixty years (or a life sentence)!
This is not a case of payment for a sin.
It should be the intent of the man... Not the crime (So it has been called).
If energy could be free-- we'll, that's hidden.
"They" got their way... Gary is to stay away from every computer--
Computers they did not protect.
So doing what came naturally led Gary to a wealth of... Secrecy.
(At least it was at one time.)
but it's time to be real... It's everywhere now!
Somehow can you understand, this is a broken man here?
What about the fear he faces everyday?
As the world has changed and rearranged, do you find it strange
That a verdict is not in? Haven't you heard?
Government trades places like an insect sheds its skin, and still, Gary McKinnon has no answer.
The story goes that the emperor had no clothes-- But unfit he could not be,
so he would not admit.
Seems someone is impressing by dressing him again.
Poor Gary! What can he do?
Come on now, wouldn't you want this cup to pass From you?
Some say: "You did it...pay up!"
So, this man has been on bail ten years. Isn't that enough? Not to some.
They still want to dress the emperor to protect... Someone, I think.
Gary's been hoodwinked by the powers that be.
I'm sorry my country is involved in that.
"Innocent until proven guilty"? Well, you'd think.
But something stinks here. Probably somebody's fear,
but in the meantime, Gary gets older.
Where does that leave him? Hold on my friend! This isn't over.
The dawn follows the darkest hour.
You will breathe again.
Written for Gary McKinnon, who has been accused of what's been
called the biggest Computer hack of all time.
CES (C) 2012.
